A Foundational Pairing: The Story of Noonan and Penny

The pairing of our two prize 1 Utility Dogs, Noonan and Penny, has been nothing short of a homerun for our breeding program. This combination has consistently produced exceptional progeny, and we are proud to be building our lines on the foundation they have established.

Noonan is truly one of the most titled Pudelpointers in the history of the breed, a testament to his versatility and trainability. His impressive list of achievements includes the NAVHDA Versatile Champion title, which demonstrates his mastery of all aspects of upland and waterfowl hunting, as well as the NSTRA Amateur Champion title, showcasing his prowess in field trial competition. Combined with his AKC Master Hunter Advanced and AKC Retriever Dog Excellent titles, he represents a rare level of proven performance and talent.

Paired with him, our Penny, a Prize 1 in Utility herself, has proven to be incredibly prepotent. This means she consistently and reliably passes on her exceptional qualities to her offspring, including her remarkable prey drive and innate talent. Her contributions have created a lineage of dogs that are not just good, but truly excel in the field.

The results speak for themselves. We were so impressed with the initial litters that we have repeated this pairing four times. So far, the progeny have earned three Natural Ability (NA) Breeder awards and one Utility Breeder award, with the ultimate goal of achieving an Invitational Breeder award soon. With two more litters currently in the testing process, we are aiming for two additional Utility Breeder awards. This would be a historic achievement, a first in the history of the breed. The scores have been consistently high, with the puppies from this pairing averaging 106.5/112 points in Natural Ability and a remarkable 201/204 points in Utility.

The field performance of this progeny has been nothing short of incredible. Their "next level" qualities—from the precision of their noses to their powerful run and expansive range—have demonstrated the profound impact of this pairing. This foundational duo has truly set a new benchmark for the breed, and we are excited to continue their legacy for generations to come.
