Mateo is an exceptional young stud dog from outstanding bloodlines. Bred from Cedarwood's Fearless Diva "Penny" (UT 1) and VC Ripsnorter's Shoot and Miss "Noonan" (Master Hunter Advanced, UT 1 204, NSTRA Amateur Champion, AKC Lifetime Achievement, and NSTRA Amateur High Point Dog NW Region) one of the most titled Pudelpointer males in breed history. Making Mateo's pedigree nothing short of impressive. This three-peat breeding has produced some of the most successful hunting dogs in the field, making it one of the most accomplished pairings in Pudelpointer history.

 

Mateo is from the first breeding of Penny and Noonan, and his proven lineage is undeniable when you watch him work. He is one of two dogs from this first breeding to qualify for the 2025 NAVHDA Invitational, with several more from this pairing set to test in Utility next year—a testament to the exceptional quality Mateo brings to Evergreen’s breeding program.

 

Co-owned and Trained by a trusted friend and hunting partner Carl Vinke, Mateo lives in a loving home where he thrives as both a hunting companion and family dog. In the field, he is a big-running dog, capable of ranging out to 4-500 yards in open terrain while demonstrating remarkable athleticism and toughness. He instinctively adjusts his range based on cover—stretching out in open plains and tightening up in thick terrain—always showcasing exceptional ground coverage on extended hunts. With a powerful nose, he confidently points game at a distance and is just as dynamic in the water as he is on land.

Despite his intense hunting drive, Mateo has an incredible off-switch in the home, often found lounging quietly when not working in the field. He has a playful, clownish personality and thrives on human interaction and attention. A pleasure to be around, he gets along well with people and other dogs, making him an ideal balance of drive and temperament.
